A special story continues
As promised, here's a glimpse into the next chapter of the Robi story. In case you haven't read the prequel, you can do it here.
After years of painful operations, Robi decided to look for a different path. He didn't want any more plastic surgery, but he did want to improve the aesthetics of his face. She found me during her research and my work convinced her that she should seek me out. This was the beginning of a really special collaboration that turned into a friendship.
Starting treatment: the first steps
The first step was to create a realistic male eyebrow for Robi. This small but significant change immediately gave his face more character. The technique I developed for this work was called the "Duczarobis" technique - in Robi's honour.
After the eyebrows, the lips were corrected. Refining the contours and colour of the lips was another step towards harmonising the overall look.
The big challenge: matching skin tones
The biggest professional challenge was to match the different skin tones of the face. Robi's skin grafts meant that different parts of his face were different colours. Using a special camouflage technique and hair-skin pigments, we managed to approximate the shades to give the face a more homogeneous effect.
I also treated scars on the forehead, temples, cheeks and chin. I used amber, which not only gave a more natural effect, but also helped to cover the transplantation marks.
Robi and humour
Robi's incredible sense of humour made the whole process easier. When he first saw himself in the mirror, he smiled and said:
"Just make sure I'm not too handsome!"
This attitude is exemplary. Robi not only accepted his situation, but was able to deal with it with humour and positivity.
What can we learn from Robi's story?
Robi's story reminds us that the process of self-acceptance takes time and patience. It's not what we see in the mirror, but how we see it.
Start paying attention to how you feel when you look in the mirror. What do you see and how do you react to it? Try to look at yourself with acceptance and love, because we all deserve to feel good about ourselves.
